Rospatent is a federal executive authority that provides legal protection for the results of intellectual activity and means of individualization. The service was founded in 1955 and today is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. Rospatent's structure includes the FIPS (Federal Institute of Industrial Property), which conducts the examination of applications for inventions, trademarks and other intellectual property objects. For 70 years, Rospatent has become a key link in the formation of the Russian innovation ecosystem and international cooperation in the field of protection of the rights of authors and inventors.
