Alexey Vakhnin participated in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Rospatent

Dr. Alexey Vakhnin, President of the Chamber of Patent Attorneys of the Russian Federation, Partner of Vakhnina and Partners LLC, took part in the celebration of the anniversary of Rospatent, which was held at the Zaryadye Concert Hall.

We were very pleased to see our colleagues, the leadership of the department, representatives of international organizations and the entire patent community.

The participation allowed us to once again feel the scale of Rospatent's work and its importance for the intellectual property system in Russia and the world.

The celebration was dedicated to an important round date of the federal agency in the field of intellectual property. WIPO President Mr. Daren Tang also congratulated Rospatent on its anniversary with a solemn speech in which he emphasized the agency's role in the global intellectual property protection system. Senator of the Russian Federation Lilia Gumerova, President of the Eurasian Patent Organization Dr. Grigory Ivliev and other guests personally congratulated Rospatent and Head of the department Mr. Yuri Zubov.

About Rospatent

The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) provides legal protection and use of intellectual property objects, including inventions, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks, and more.

Rospatent conducts the examination of applications, issues patents and certificates, maintains state registers, registers contracts for the disposal of rights, exercises control and supervision in the established field, and also represents Russia's interests in international organizations, primarily in WIPO. The subordinate institution is the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), which is engaged in expertise and publications. The Agency is subordinate to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

In the 70 years of active work since the establishment of the Committee for Inventions and Discoveries under the Council of Ministers of the USSR in 1955, more than 3 million inventions, about 1 million trademarks and more than 370,000 IT solutions have been registered, and the agency has become a key institution for supporting innovation, technological sovereignty and the development of intellectual property in the country.
